Work Parties and Meetings

The Cuttle Brook Volunteers group meets twice a month – the third Sunday and last Wednesday – to share hands-on tasks such as mowing paths, building or maintaining boardwalks and bridges, creating seats, ‘laying’ hedges, protecting reed beds, tree planting, pollarding, pond digging and generally improving access for all.

They do whatever needs doing – physical but fun!

Would you like to join in?

There are plenty of opportunities for bird-watching, making surveys, keeping records of plants and wildlife, and taking photographs. But you don’t have to be an expert….

Come to be inspired by Cuttle Brook as a resource for the arts, or just to enjoy its beauty, variety, freedom, peace and quiet.

    Hi there,
My friend and I are zoology graduates who have just moved to Thame. We’d love to get involved with your work on the reserve. At present, we’re available all the time and happy to get involved with work parties, surveys or anything else that might be useful. Could you let us know more about it?

    Thanks for you time,

Sophie Welsh and Lloyd Roberts (lloyd_89@hotmail.co.uk)

      Hi Shayne,

Thank you for your interest in joining our group of volunteers. If you would like to come along to the next work party on Sunday 20th September you would be most welcome. Meet in the car park at 10am. I will add you to the volunteer list so that you get the information prior to the work party, which will tell you what work is planned for the morning and what to bring.

I am a recent retiree, living in Kingston Blount, with time on my hands looking for voluntary work in conservation. I have contacted a number of similar agencies locally, with this in mind but unfortunately the vast majority can only offer weekend participation, while I am looking for something to help occupy my weekdays. I am reasonably fit & enjoy physical work, if a little out of practise! If there is any way that you think that I could contribute, please let me know.
